What's the relevance to corporate boards?
Corporate Boards and Personal Boards have a lot in common.
Guide and advise but not instruct
A corporate board is a group of people who guide and advise a business's executives and hold them accountable. A Personal Board is no different, it's not there to instruct or manipulate what you do but helps you to make YOUR decisions.

Putting in the hard graft
Just like a business, it's the executives, not the board, that put in the work to achieve the objectives. Similarly, think of yourself as the CEO of your business, you need to make the decisions and do the hard work.
There are many similarities between a corporate board and a Personal Board. To explore these similarities more, go to chapter 3 of my book.
The importance of verbalising goals
One of the biggest benefits of a Personal Board is for verbalising goals, so you commit to the challenge. This is THE most impactful way advisors can help you on your journey. Just asking 'what will you do next?' can be the difference between committing to a goal or not.
