Is your Personal Board aligned with your goals?

Do you have the right board members to help you achieve your goals?

The evolving Personal Board

It's no longer the case that you need to have a single career or a job for life, people often change organisations, careers or industries, start their own businesses and so on. Through all these changes, your goals too will change.

Your Personal Board shouldn't remain static and should evolve to reflect your goals. Think about why you need your Personal Board members and if you have the right people sitting on your board.

Quick Personal Development Plan

In my book, I talk about using agendas to give clarity and structure your 'goals' conversations with your Personal Board.  Using your Personal Board to help create your goals might sound 'fluffy' but with a structured agenda, this can be an impactful way to use your Personal Board.

A 'Personal Development Plan' template is in chapter 5 of the book, with more examples in the workbook.

Gap Analysis

The idea here is to ensure you are not just using your organic contacts but breaking out into new networks. Once you have your goals, consider who/what is missing from the advisory pool. If you could have any skills/experience to add to your Personal Board - what would it be?
